Ever since Obama mentioned "land swaps" at AIPAC a few years ago, it is considered a given fact that there will be such land swaps. It was a facile concession to the pro-Palestinian crowd, but no
one bothered to check if there actually are such lands to be swapped. Turns out there aren't. Oops. And that's in addition to the fact that to impose such a demand on Israel is akin to asking the
victim of an aggression to reward its aggressor for not being the aggressor any more! A classical case of blackmail. Such a swap has never happened in history before, and yet it is demanded of
Israel! What kind of madness is that? There will be no progress as long as the Palestinians keep living in their parallel universe of unrealistic demands, a bizarre dimension in which they behave
as if they were the victors instead of the defeated aggressors. The US administration would be much better inspired to read them the riot act and tell them that they are in no position to make
demands any more. They should consider themselves lucky to be dealing with the israelis rather than, say, the Syrians or the Russians (hint: there would be no negotiations of any sort with these
guys) and walk away with what Israel is willing to give them. Otherwise, they will continue forever on their self-imposed road to perdition. Fine. Let it be their choice.
